Innovations in the Web World-Watch It

In the past few days i have been reading news about  new technologies that is driving the web.
Some of them are :-
1: Web 2.0 AJAX(Asyncronous Javascript with XML) and much more
2: What is the next step in search ?
     a: Google.
b: Some yahoo and search experts talking about searching the dark matter which constitutes 96 % of world
information.Currently only 4% of the information is searchable/visible. They want to map/search/index the rest
96% of the information that is present in this global world constituting about 7 billion people. This information is either  in the heads of these people or present as documents/books with these people.
c: New startups willing to compete with google. One worthy of note is Kosmix, a search engine started by Junglee co-founders. They feel that page ranking on which google works is efficient when u are looking for a specific information. But when u are looking for something which has no correct answer, then u are most interested in relevant categories of answer and there is where Kosmix scores. They have come up with Health and Travel searches. There searches return you very help ful categories like for health, they will show you alternate medicine as one of the usefull categories. For travel, they will show you hotels, etc. Kosmix was founded by people who are standaford grads and larry's classmates who perviously did made some attempt to actually acquire Google. This company seriously needs watching.

3:Windows live which is 1 big/quick step by microsoft in the services space. It has all the cool things that google/yahoo and anybody else is offering.
a: rss feed subscriptions
b: office live and webmail with all the cool features that gmail, etc boasts off
c: live search
d: gadgets gallery which is basically a compilation of cool web based tools to acomplish jobs
and many more things i dont know off.

4: one more thing that i am ammsued about is the ability of new webpages based on web2.0 to refresh just a small section of the webpage instead of the complete web page reloading which takes a lot of time. Also customizing a web page or moving a mail by simply dragging and dropping on the internet explorer

5: pcture in picture explorer. A small explorer inside an explorer

Its time to sleep good bye
Stay tuned there are a lot of cool things that are coming up on the web and technology front.

Reviving of Web startups

Today i came across the news that web startups are again on the rise, this time on something called WEB2.0, the representative of which are blogging, internet as a platform, wikipedia, etc. People are coming up with richer and richer forms of web applications and the traditional model of software development and distribution is being replaced by software services which are delivered over the web in richer and denser forms. Google is delivering on those lines with rich google services. You no longer need to bye software to do any specialied work, word processing, accounting but in the new model all these are provided as services over the web from different providers. You just need to have an internet connection and that's all. Even microsoft has started believing in this model and has come with Windows Live which is basically a set of software services over the net. Google is buying  a startup called Writely which allows you to do word processing over the web, write documents, store them online, share them with peers, work together on the same document, etc.
Rather then the whole model revolving around Software, it will concentrate around service. Rather then people paying for Software they will pay for premium services delivered over the web. Why should one pay for a complete complex word processing software, when his whole life he just needs to use a simple editing feature of the word processing software? This simple feature is provided as service at very nominal cost probably a fraction of the complex software's cost. This is just one argument and purely my understanding of the model.
Web startups are like small shops hosted in manner to have greater reachability, better and easier manageability, offers better ways of presentation of the selling service, is scalable to handle volumes, easily customizable to varied people's need of the service. Its a completely new way of selling a service, where the service could be anything from travel packages  to fashion items,  to groceries ,etc.
The Internet allows you to present information in a manner which can easily be archived, collated, compared with diffrent attributes in mind, distributed, representted. This usefulness is what is reviving the Internet as a platform for delivering services.

My First Day at Blogging --The relevance and irrelevance of it

As i create my first blog entry i am pretty excited about it. I am thinking
of what to write and how really this blogging is going to help me and others.
This syndication service also seems to be a cool feature and i would
really like to understand , how all this cotent aggregation works.
May be this blogging is a "Digital Human Book Print" for the other
world. Some day they will really look at these blogs and come to know
about us as we will learn about them.
Can this blogging be used to bring like minds together, to let people
reach out to a larger world when they could not have done otherwise?
I personally think that syndication and content aggregation should be
more feature rich and advanced for this blogging to be really effective
in that sorts. One thing i dont really understand is how will i know what
other people are thinking about this blog? Is there somebody who thinks
like me and is ready do some revolutionary work with me ? Is there a way
i can know what i am blogging is revolutionary or evolutionary, revolting
or innovative?
But surely i think that this is one way of bringing out the soul within you.
What you are ? what you want to do? what your thoughts are ?
May be reading your own blogs will sometime help you get a clear thinking
about various things.
This is all for my first day at blogging and i am looking fowrad to blog more
on technology and science and relationships.
